Rabbids are invading!........... Again.

Yup. I was animator on the Rabbids Invasion TV series currently airing every Saturday on Nick.
The Rabbids have grown so popular that I actually enjoyed animating them! It's never too hard to animate a character you already know so well... :)

Dinosaurs short: Wrap Party!

Here are the pictures we took at that super-awesome wrap party we had last month to celebrate the completion of the Jim-Henson memorial short "I'm the Baby - Gotta Love Me!"
The whole soirĂ©e has been great fun and many new ideas came out for the future projects. We toasted to the short and Jim Henson himself, may he rest in peace forever. Too bad many of us weren't able to join the party, but oh well. It was like they were there. :)
Featuring:
Davide Maugeri (director-animator), Matteo Rovatti (animator), Luca Stocchi (texture artist - matte painter), Alessandro Lolli (3D modeler, render assistant), Andrea & Francesca (Luca & Alessandro's girlfriends), Baby Sinclair (party pooper... literally, a real pooper.)

Enjoy the pictures!

Awesome stone-age theming inside the restaurant

That's me, working on brand-new ideas... oh yeah.

Our 3D modeler is also a screenwriter... who would have guessed?

Animators United!

 Production babies.... :)

 Checking out the menu...

 WOOOW... Giant stone-age calzone! YUMMY

Some delicious coconut ice cream for dessert.

And here we are! Greetings to the rest of the team who couldn't join us at this beautiful party!

.......AND IT'S DONE!! Enjoy it!

After 8 months of hard work, we are proud to show you our ultimate tribute to Jim Henson: "I'm the Baby, gotta love me!" is a CG animated short featuring two famous character from one on JH's most succesful shows, "Dinosaurs". Due to unknown reasons (probably because of the series' finale) the serie hasn't been shown around on TV for many many years, and the characters ended up forgotten. We wanted to praise Henson's work and make these characters raise again at the same time. This is how we did it. We hope you enjoy!!

P.S. There are 5 muppetational easter eggs in the short. Have fun and search for them all!

Befriend that bull, man...

Whoo-hoo! Hey guys! Are you ready to meet Clive, the most handsome and loyal British gentle-bull you've ever seen? He also had a very good taste in picking friends. His BFF is that cute little skinny coyote over there, the name's Drake. Well, what's wrong with that, you might ask. Easy: Clive is supposed to guard over a farm house, instead Drake is hungry all the time so he got used to stealing other's food... Got it now?
The pilot episode is coming this holiday season, in the meantime do not forget to visit, like and share the OFFICIAL FACEBOOK PAGE.

Befriend the bull, coming soon on YouTube!

Huge news!

The movie I'm working on, L'Arrivo di Wang -Wang's Arrival, directed by Marco and Antonio Manetti- will come out next summer and the first 20 minutes premiered a few days ago at Noir Film Festival in Courmayeur, Piedmont. Yay! Right now I'm completing the last shots, I guess the whole animation thing will be complete in the end of January. I animated hundred of shots so far and I really am glad it's almost done for it hasn't been easy at all! I guess I'll start posting a few stills whenever Manetti Bros. Film will start publishing them officially. Stay tuned.

The Nico Rig

This time the rig is a mythological character I really enjoyed to animate. All you need to do is throw a stick and say 'FETCH!' Nico will bring it back immediately.

So many projects

I'm working on 3 differents projects right now (I know, that's crazy) the first one I'm about to start is the VFX of a sci-fi feature film at Palantir Digital, Rome -I'm going to talk about this later on- the second one is the 2009/2010 Scuola Comics's new short 'Tico & Loco' of which I'm the lead animator -almost done!- and the third one is a CG animated serial set in the ice age, here are some stills from the main location. Enjoy...

What I did: modeling, texturing, base lighting, rendering.

THE UGLY DINO

Ta-dah! This is the latest feature I'm working at. It's almost 10 times more complicated than Friend Of Mine: more characters, more places, and better animation. THE UGLY DINO tells the same story of the Ugly Duckling, but it's set in the Jurassic age. One rainy night, a small T-Rex egg rolls away from his nest and accidentally lands in the nest of a female Pteranodon called Chelsea. Once the egg hatchs up, Chelsea and her nestlings are astonished wondering what that small T-rex was doing there. Inevitably, Chelsea just can't help loving that cute cub, and decides to parent him. But every other dinosaur is scared by the small T-rex, who starts feeling predator instincts. Things get worse when the cub meets Arnold, a huge Tirannosaurus who begins to hunt him down, forcing the poor dinosaur to leave the valley. Will the real cub's mother and Chelsea be able to save the day before it's too late?
THE UGLY DINO will be out next October, and I would like it to partecipate in famous animation contests like AniBOOM and CORTOONS. In the meantime, have a look at this wallpaper!
